Birkirkara girls move six points clear

Champions Birkirkara moved six points clear in the BOV Women’s League after defeating rivals Hibernians 1-0 in the big match at the Charles Abela Stadium on Wednesday.

Former Hibernians striker Ylenia Carabott scored the all-important goal on the 36th minute.

Mgarr United moved second thanks to a 5-0 win over Fgura United at the Fgura Ground on Tuesday. Haley Bugeja put Mgarr ahead on the 10th minute. Roxanne Micallef doubled the score on the 16th and an own goal four minutes later increased the lead. Brenda Borg made it 4-0 on the 28th with Roxanne Micallef adding another on the 37th.

At the Luxol Stadium, Mgarr Ground, Kirkop United registered a fine 4-1 win over Raiders (Luxol). Rebecca Naudi put Raiders ahead on the 4rd minute but five minutes in the second half, Liis Pello equalised. Kirkop were quick to take the lead two minutes later thanks to Paula Cano Amortegui and Demi Magrin made it 3-1 on the 56th. Katryn Ellul sealed the issue with a fourth goal three minutes from time.

In another match at the Charles Abela Stadium, Mosta and Swieqi United shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
