Gżira United secured the services of Italian midfielder Gianmarco Conti. The twenty-six year old, who had already played for the Maroons in season 2016/17, signed an eighteen-month deal with the club.

Conti started his career with Venezia but then joined AC Milan in a co-ownership deal in 2008. He was loaned to Fano and then Lecco before being transferred to Bassano. He then moved to Virtus Verona and later played for Pordenone and Monza in the Lega Pro and then for Pergolettese.

After his spell with the Maroons, he played for FC Calvi Noale and then for USD Lavagnese.
