Clubs strengthen squads on January transfer window deadline

Clubs had up to Thursday night to strengthen their squads as the January transfer window closed at midnight.

Tarxien signed former Gżira defender Destin Prince-Loic Mambouana and goalkeeper Dorian Bugeja from Balzan. Pietà Hotspurs, on the other hand, signed Georgian midfielder Gegi Kekua.

After signing Gabon international goalkeeper Yves Stephane Moto towards the end of last week, Mosta welcomed back Jonas Rodrigues Ekani and signed Federico Franchini from Carpi. Goalkeeper Giorgio Nardone returned with the club from Tarxien. Calvin Camilleri, on the other hand, moved to Balzan.

Senglea transferred Imanol Gonzalez to Casertana but signed Arian Mrsulja from Birkirkara, Christian Sammut from Gżira and Bradley Schembri from Ħamrun.

After signing goalkeeper Marko Jovicic, Hibernians secured the services of Brazilians Márcio Leandro Barbosa da Silveira and Rafael Tardini Monteiro.

Qormi signed goalkeeper David Cassar from Birkirkara. Apart from Cassar and Mrsulja, Birkirkara loaned Neil Micallef to Santa Lucia. Santa Lucia also signed Jeremy Busuttil from Ħamrun Spartans.

Meanwhile St. Andrews secured the services of Azerbaijani goalkeeper Elmaddin Mammadov. The club had earlier lost Mattia Veselji to OFK Belgrade and Marcus Grima to Barnsley while Kevaughn Atkinson was set to complete his move to FK Senica.
