Hamrun extend unbeaten run with comfortable win

Hamrun Spartans extended their unbeaten run in the BOV Premier League to nine matches as they defeated St. Andrews 3-0 at the Hibernians Stadium on Saturday.

The Spartans are now fourth but fifth-placed Birkirkara have a game against Valletta in hand.

For Hamrun, Sean Cini replaced the suspended Manuel Bartolo in goal while Alain Donneil Mouakanza and Njongo Priso made way for Caetano Calil and Kevin Tulimieri. On the other hand, Kurt Magro was preferred to Alex Satariano for St. Andrews.

The Spartans took the lead on the 13th minute thanks to a Wilfried Domoraud header following a corner.

Kevin Tulimieri was then unlucky not to double the score but hit the crossbar.

Six minutes in the second half, Hamrun doubled the score when they were awarded a penalty after Domoraud was brought down inside the area and from the penalty spot, Marco Criaco converted.

Three minutes from time, the Spartans sealed the issue with a third goal thanks to substitute Ryan Darmanin who advanced into the area before hitting past Calleja Cremona.
