Nadur, Xewkija share spoils in draw

Victoria Hotspurs stay six points clear in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division after Nadur Youngsters and Xewkija Tigers shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a clash between the teams in second and third place at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Darko Krstic put Xewkija ahead on the 27th but Jefferson De Assis equalised eight minutes in the second half.

In another match, Għajnsielem defeated Munxar Falcons 3-2. Luis Andre de Melo Lima opened the score for the Blacks on the 5th minute but seven minutes later, Diego Martins De Souza converted a penalty to level matters. Luiz André scored another two goals for Għajnsielem on the 42nd and 80th with Diego Martins De Souza reducing the gap one minute from time.

In another match, Qala Saints and Żebbuġ Rovers shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. A brace by Marcos Peres Vega on the 7th and 37th gave Żebbuġ a two-goal lead but Emanuel Cordina reduced the gap on the 69th with Michael Mumford converting a penalty three minutes in added time.

The Spurs took the lead on the 10th minute thanks to Muda Fagbeja. Ralph Ebube Okpokwu equalised four minutes from the end of the first half but Charlon Farrugia made it 2-1 for St. Lawrence five minutes in the second half. However Sannat rescued a point thanks to a Matthew Portelli penalty on the 73rd.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Sannat Lions were held in a 2-2 draw by St. Lawrence Spurs.
