Żurrieq maintained their unbeaten run in the BOV Third Division as they defeated Ta’ Xbiex 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium in one of the two matches in programme on Friday.

Terence Scerri put Żurrieq ahead on the 3rd minute and then doubled the score thanks to a penaltty on the 56th. Andrew Xuereb pulled one back  for Ta’ Xbiex on the 63rd.

Meanwhile goals by Jurgen Gerada on the 12th minute and Bledi Alla on the 40th enabled Attard to beat Għargħur 2-0 in another match.

Żurrieq lead the way with 38 points, followed by Xgħajra on 35, Attard 26, Msida and Dingli 25, Kirkop and Mdina 20, Għaxaq 18, Ta’ Xbiex 12, Għargħur 9, Marsaskala 3 and Mtarfa 0.
