Floriana return to winning ways

A goal by Kristian Keqi on the 16th minute enabled Floriana to return to winning ways as they defeated Senglea Athletic 1-0 at the Hibernians Stadium on Friday in a clash between two teams eager to climb out of the danger zone.

For the Greens, this was the first win since December. A win which puts them in eighth place on 21 points. On the other hand, for Senglea, this was the first defeat in 2019 after four wins and an impressive 3-3 draw with Valletta.

Kristian Keqi scored the all-important goal on the 16th minute with an angled shot from inside the area.

Four minutes in the second half, Senglea went close to equalising but Taisei Marukawa’s effort hit the foot of the upright.
