Wanderers extend positive run

Sliema Wanderers extended their positive run to six matches as they registered a third consecutive win, defeating Mosta 3-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday. A win which enables them to stay in fourth place, one point ahead of Birkirkara and three ahead of Hamrun.

For Mosta, this was the first defeat after a good run of four positive results.

Younes Marzouk put Sliema ahead on the 27th minute as he headed the ball home off a cross by Ryan Fenech.

Eight minutes later, the Wanderers doubled the score as Kurt Shaw slotted the ball past the Mosta goalkeeper following a cross by Marzouk.

Two minutes from time, Sliema extended the lead thanks to another goal by Younes Marzouk whose rising shot gave Andreas Vella no chance.

Mosta scored a consolation goal on the 90th minute thanks to a Rafael Morisco da Silva freekick.
