Tarxien Rainbows return to winning ways

Tarxien Rainbows brought to an end a disappointing run of five consecutive defeats as they beat Qormi 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

This win puts Tarxien on level points with Mosta in ninth place, two points ahead of Senglea and four ahead of Andrews while Qormi remain second from bottom on 13 points – five behind St. Andrews.

Alexander Nilsson put Tarxien ahead on the 11th minute but Yannick Yankam equalised on the 35th minute. Tarxien had Juan Cruz Gill sent off after receiving a second yellow card on 82 minutes but three minutes later, Jens Wemmer notched the winner for Tarxien.M
