Hibernians hope to extend unbeaten run with a win

Hibernians will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run with a win in their bid to regain the top spot as they take on Qormi at the Centenary Stadium on Monday, kick-off at 20:15.

Valletta moved top on Sunday thanks to a 4-0 win over St. Andrews and therefore a win is a must for the Paolites to regain the top spot.

After dropping six points in draws, Hibernians returned to winning ways last week as they defeated Birkirkara 3-2. Tiago Adan Fonseca and Marcelo Dias are ruled out through suspension.

Qormi, on the other hand, lost their last three matches and remain anchored at the bottom of the table with 13 points.

Hibernians defeated Qormi 2-1 in the first round and 5-1 in the FA Trophy third round.

Meanwhile in the first match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, kick-off at 18:00, Sliema Wanderers take on Senglea Athletic.

Sliema are currently fifth on 41 points, one behind Hamrun and one ahead of Balzan, and with a win over Senglea they would move fourth on 44 points.

Senglea, on the other hand, are currently fourth from bottom on 22 points. With a win, they would secure their Premier League status, condemning St. Andrews to the play-off spot. They are unbeaten in three matches following a win over St. Andrews and draws with Tarxien and Hamrun. On Monday, Augusto Rene Caseres is ruled out through suspension.

In the first round, Sliema defeated Senglea 2-0.

At the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 19:00, Gzira United face Floriana.

Third-placed Gzira are currently third on 46 points and now seek a seventh consecutive positive result after three wins and three draws in the last six matches. Floriana, on the other hand, are in a comfortable mid-table position and are coming from a good run of four positive results.

In the first round, Gzira defeated Floriana 1-0.
