St. Andrews return to winning ways

After suffering seven consecutive defeats, St. Andrews returned to winning ways as they registered a narrow win over Floriana at the National Stadium on Monday.

This win puts St. Andrews temporarily five points ahead of Qormi and two behind Senglea. Qormi face Birkirkara and Senglea take on Hibernians in the other two matches on Monday.

Floriana were unlucky to hit the crossbar with a Clyde Borg effort on the 23rd minute. Kristian Keqi hit the foot of the upright late in the end of the first half but just before half-time, Woo Ling also hit the crossbar, this time for St. Andrews.

Matthew Woo Ling scored the all-important goal on 66 minutes as his direct free kick from the right was not held by Akpan to end at the back of the net.
