Hefty bans for Serrano Valero, Domoraud and Zerafa

Eight Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Elkin Serrano Valero of Balzan was suspended for six matches, Wilfried Domoraud of Hamrun Spartans was banned for four matches while Joseph Zerafa of Valletta was handed a three-match ban. Caetano Calil and Matthew Gauci (Hamrun), Zachary Brincat (Mosta), Yannick Yankam (Qormi) and Raed Ibrahim Saleh (Valletta) were all suspended for one match.

Zerafa and Saleh are therefore ruled out of the Championship Decider against Hibernians on Saturday.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Melvin Busuttil (Qrendi), Glen Pace (San Gwann), Marco Antonio Morgon Filho (Sirens), Kieran Degiorgio and Jean Claude Galea (Vittoriosa) and Samuel Buhagiar (Zebbug) were all banned for one match. Matthew Borg (Msida) was also banned for one match.
