Second 3-3 draw for Zebbug — Tarxien register first win

BOV-Premier-LeagueZebbug Rangers came back from two goals down to earn the second point in a second successive 3-3 draw, this time with Floriana.

The Rangers had managed to take the lead but Floriana turned the score in their favour with three goals. However Zebbug never gave up and after reducing the gap, they managed to level matters late in the game.

At the National Stadium, Tarxien Rainbows registered their first win as they beat Naxxar Lions 2-1.

BOV-First-DivisionRabat Ajax collected their first point in the BOV First Division after holding Gzira United in a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

The Maroons had defeated Vittoriosa in their first outing while the Magpies had suffered a 0-3 defeat to newly-promoted Mqabba.

BOV Division 2: Siggiewi, Mellieha earn first point

BOV-Second-DivisionAfter suffering defeats in their first outings, Siggiewi and Mellieha earned their first point in the BOV Second Division as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Luxol Stadium on Friday.

Wayne Borg St John put Mellieha ahead on 38 minutes but Siggiewi rescued a point thanks to Stephane Tape two minutes from time.

Gozo to host UEFA Regions Cup mini-tournament

UEFARegionsCupGozo will be hosting Group 6 of the Intermediary Round of the UEFA Regions Cup 2015 between Wednesday 1st and Sunday 5th October. Taking part in the mini-tournament apart from Gozo are Ankara (Turkey), Region of Vaasa (Finland) and South Region (Russia).

This will be Gozo’s third participation in the competition. In 1999, they lost 0-4 to Zapadne Srbije of Yugoslavia, 0-6 to Israel and 2-8 to Macedonia of Greece while in 2012, Gozo finished second in the group after a 3-2 win over Rinuzi / Strong of Latvia, a 0-6 defeat to FC Olimp Moscow of Russia and a 2-2 draw with Ialoveni of Moldova.
