Malta Football Awards

0  The III Westin Malta Football Awards 2003/04

Stefan Giglio claimed two awards in the third edition of the Westin Malta Football Awards which were held on Saturday at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St. Julian's.

Giglio, who earlier this month won the MFA Footballer of the Year award, was voted Best Midfielder and Best Maltese Player.

The champions, who had finalists in six out of the ten categories claimed another three awards. Jeffrey Chetcuti was voted Best Defender, Danilo Doncic won the Best Striker Award while Edward Aquilina won the award for the Best Coach.

For the second year in succession, Saviour Darmanin of Pietà Hotspurs was voted Best Goalkeeper. Andre Schembri of Hibernians claimed the award for the Most Promising Youngster while Andre Rocha Da Silva was voted the Best Foreign Player.

A goal by Ivan Woods for Pietà against Floriana was voted as the Best Goal of the Season.

Hibernians striker Dorianne Theuma won the award for the Best Female Player.

On the other hand, Salvinu Schembri and Nicky Saliba both received special awards for their career.
