The Malta Football Awards

0  Melita Digital Malta Football Awards -- Finalists for the 7th Melita Digital Malta Football Awards announced

The Organising Committee of the seventh edition of the Melita Digital Malta Football Awards announced the finalists for this year’s edition which is to be held on Friday 6th June 2008.

Apart from the 15 categories of which the finalists have been announced, this year there will be more Awards given out during this high profile night which will be televised live on Melita Sports and on the Weather and Info Channel. These extra Awards will be the Special Career Award and the Coke Zero Best Support Award. The latter is the only Award for which the voting is still open. Supporters can vote by sending an SMS on 506 14 914 with the name of the team they think had the best organized and innovative support in the 2007/08 season. The Coke Zero Best Support Award was launched almost two months ago where supporters were invited to upload their support pictures and videos on www.cokezero.com.mt in the super fan section. The response for this initiative was very encouraging.

In the meantime, Sandro Micallef - Chairperson Malta Football Awards said that the response for those who were entitled to vote for the main Premier League categories was also very satisfactory as 96% of those who were entitled to vote handed in their vote to the organizing committee on time before the elimination process before the three finalists could be determined. Those who were entitled to vote for the established Premier League Categories included 45 local journalists, 10 Premier Club Presidents or officials, 10 Premier Coaches and 10 Premier Club Captains.
