  The Melita Digital Malta Football Awards Winners to be announced tonight

The annual event of the Malta Football Awards will be held tonight at the Corinthia Palace Attard at 8.30pm. Events Services, the producers of this annual event have organized six editions so far and this year's is the 7th edition whereby the awards are given the name of Melita Digital Malta Football Awards.

During this event a total of 19 awards will be given to various players who play in the various Maltese local championships, mainly the Premier League, First Division, Futsal, and for the first year also the Second Division. The Malta Football Awards is one of the most prestigious events held on our island every Summer. Some of the main categories are: Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Striker, Best Midfielder and also the Most Promising Youngster. Two categories which are also contested for are The Best Foreign Player and the Best Maltese Player.

This year, thanks to General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, Events Services is also awarding The Best Support Award whereby football supporters had the opportunity to upload videos and photos on www.cokezero.com.mt . The SMS voting is still open for televiewers to keep on sending the name of the club who had the best support this season on 50614914. The winning club will receive 2500 euro to enhance his support next season. The SMS voting will be closed fifteen minutes from the end of the event which will be broadcast LIVE on Melita Sports and the Weather & Info Channel, with a repeat on Saturday 7th June on E22.

The 7th Edition of the Melita Digital Malta Football Awards will be hosted for the second consecutive year by sports journalist Catherine Xuereb and actor Mario Micallef. During the show, also thanks to the Malta Tourism Authority, there will be the international football free-styler Soufiane Touzani who will perform live in front of the audience and show his superb football skills.
