Melita Malta Football Awards to be presented tonight
The annual event of the Malta Football Awards will be held tonight at the Grand Hotel Excelsior at 8.30pm. Events Services, the producers of this annual event have organized seven editions so far and this year's is the 8th edition whereby the awards are given the name of Melita Malta Football Awards.During this event a total of 20 awards will be given to various players who play in the various Maltese local championships, mainly the Premier League, First Division, Futsal, and for the first year also the Third Division. The Malta Football Awards is one of the most prestigious events held on our island every summer. Some of the main categories are: Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Striker, Best Midfielder and also the Most Promising Youngster. Two categories which are also contested for are The Best Foreign Player and the Best Maltese Player.
This year, Events Services is also awarding The Favourite Player Award where the general public can vote via SMS 50614914 with the name of his favourite player this season. The SMS voting will be closed forty five minutes from the end of the event which will be broadcast LIVE on Melita Sports and the Weather & Info Channel, with a repeat on Wednesday 3rd June on Favourite Channel at 8.45pm.
The 8th Edition of the Melita Malta Football Awards will be hosted by sports journalists Catherine Xuereb and Clinton Buhagiar presenters of Kontrattakk and L-Argument respectively.
