BOV Division 1: Precious points for Vittoriosa

Vittoriosa Stars joined Marsaxlokk in third place in the BOV First Division as they defeated Gudja United 2-1 on Sunday.

Gary Muir put the Stars ahead on 22 minutes and seventeen minutes in the second half, Lydon Micallef doubled the score. Peter Paul Sammut pulled one back eight minutes from time.

Naxxar Lions returned in second place thanks to a comfortable 6-0 win over Dingli Swallows.

BOV Division 1: Dramatic win puts Lija back on top

Two late penalties by Erjon Beu put Lija Athletic back on top the BOV First Division table as they beat wooden-spoonists Mqabba 2-1.

Joseph Okonkwo had put Mqabba ahead on 22 minutes but despite having a player sent off, Erjon Beu converted two penalties on 76 and 92 minutes to give Lija the three points. The second penalty brought harsh protests by Mqabba officials.

In another match, Pietà Hotspurs defeated Gzira United 2-0.

BOV Division 1: Marsaxlokk win derby

Marsaxlokk defeated neighbours Zejtun Corinthians 2-0 to move temporarily on top the BOV First Division.

Rupert Mangion put the Southseasiders ahead on the 31st minute and Douglas da Silva Silveira doubled the score six minutes in the second half.

In the second match, St. Andrews defeated Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 2-1.

Pieta vs DingliPietà Hotspurs returned to winning ways in the BOV First Division as they beat Dingli Swallows 2-0.

Christian Grech put the Hotspurs ahead on 55 minutes and eleven minutes later, Raphael Alain Kooh Sohna doubled the score.

Vittoriosa Stars defeated Naxxar Lions 2-1 in the second match.

BOV Division 1: Impressive win for Gzira United

Gzira United returned to winning ways in the BOV First Division as they registered an impressive 4-0 win over Marsaxlokk on Sunday.

Simon Shead put the Maroons ahead on 28 minutes and doubled the score ten minutes later. In the second half, Sunny Omoregie Ogbemudia increased the lead six minutes in the second half and sealed the issue with a fourth goal two minutes from time.

Meanwhile in another match, St. Andrews and Mqabba shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
