BOV-First-DivisionThe BOV First Division championship will be at stake on Friday as Melita take on St. Andrews at the Centenary Stadium and Pembroke Athleta face St. George’s at the Luxol Stadium. Both matches kick-off at 19:30.

Pembroke lead the way with 52 points, followed by St. Andrews on 50. A win is a must for Pembroke to celebrate a third consecutive promotion with the championship title. In the first round, Jacques Scerri’s side defeated St. George’s 1-0.

Luxol have to beat neighbours and rivals Melita, hoping that Pembroke fail to beat St. George’s. In the first round, St. Andrews beat Melita 2-1.

MFAThe Malta Football Association announced changes in fixtures for BOV First Division, BOV Second Division and BOV Third Division matches as the three leagues come to an end this weekend.

In the BOV First Division, the championship and the third place are yet to be determined while in the BOV Second Division and the BOV Third Division, the championships will be decided in the final games.

In the BOV First Division, Melita vs St. Andrews and St. George’s vs Pembroke Athleta will be playing on Friday 24 at 19:30 at the Centenary Stadium and Luxol Stadium respectively. St. Andrews and Pembroke are battling for the championship while Melita and St. George’s are seeking third place.

BOV-First-DivisionWith one game to go, Pembroke Athleta moved two points clear of St. Andrews in the BOV First Division as they defeated Zurrieq with St. Andrews being held in a draw by St. George’s.

In their final league games next week, Pembroke and St. Andrews face two teams who are still chasing the third place and hence the Premier League play-off spot as Pembroke take on St. George’s and St. Andrews face neighbours Melita in the derby. Apart from Melita and St. George’s. Another two teams chasing the third place – Gudja United and Gzira United face Lija Athletic and Mqabba respectively.

Pembroke Athleta defeated Zurrieq 4-1. Following this result and Rabat’s win over Lija, Zurrieq were relegated to Division 2.

BOV-First-DivisionMelita moved an important step towards securing third place in the BOV First Division and therefore a place in the Premier League Play-Off as they defeated Fgura United 2-0 on Saturday.

Alan Borg Olivier put the Amateurs ahead on the 12th and George Gribbon converted a penalty five minutes in added time to seal the issue.

In another match, Gzira United defeated Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 1-0 thanks to a goal by John Nwoba on 35 minutes.

BOV-First-DivisionMqabba scored three in the first half as they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 4-0 in a clash from the BOV First Division to deny the latter the chance to move in joint-third place together with Melita.

Karl Cutajar put Mqabba ahwad on the 8th and Guy Stephane Tape doubled the score seven minutes later. Brandon Grech added another three minutes before the end of the first half and Alessio Cassar sealed the issue on the 91st for Mqabba who move to just two points behind the Stars.
