BOV Division 1: Birzebbuga move closer to safety

BOV-First-Division---2012-2013Birzebbuga St. Peter’s moved four points clear of Dingli Swallows after beating them 3-1 in a direct clash against relegation in the BOV First Division.

James Sammut put the Saints ahead on 41 minutes. Martin Deanov doubled the score on 69 minutes. Kain Roomes pulled one back on the 80th but five minutes later, Felix Peplow sealed the issue with the third goal.

In another match, St. Andrews defeated Marsaxlokk 4-1.

BOV-First-Division---2012-2013Lija Athletic joined Vittoriosa Stars in second place in the BOV First Division thanks to a 3-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians in one of the two BOV First Division matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

In another match, Naxxar Lions returned to winning ways as they beat Gudja United 4-1.

BOV Division 1: Hotspurs complete comeback in stoppage time

BOV-First-Division---2012-2013Pietà Hotspurs scored two late goals to turn defeat into victory beating Mqabba 3-2 in a match from the BOV First Division.

Claudio Calleja put Mqabba ahead on 22 minutes and David Azzopardi doubled the score on 34 minutes. Larson Mallia pulled one back on 62 minutes. Raphael Alain Kooh Sohna levelled matters on the 90th and in stoppage time, Jurgen Pisani notched the winner.

In another match, Vittoriosa Stars were held in a 1-1 draw by Gzira United.

BOV-First-Division---2012-2013Vittoriosa Stars extended their unbeaten record to ten matches without defeat as they beat Dingli Swallows 2-1.

Kain Roomes put Dingli ahead on the 9th minute. Marcelo Pereira equalised on the 32nd minute and Gary Muir converted a penalty on 69 minutes to hand Vittoriosa the three points.

Naxxar Lions missed the chance to join Vittoriosa on top as they lost 1-3 to Birzebbuga St. Peter’s in another match.
