BOV Division 1: Lija return to winning ways

Lija Athletic returned to winning ways as a goal on the 90th minute by Rosalino Martins Pais de Almeida gave them a narrow win over Gudja United. A win which puts Brian Spiteri’s side back on top the BOV First Division table.

In another match, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s and Zejtun Corinthians shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

BOV Division 1: Naxxar take top spot

A goal by Lydon Micallef on the 36th minute gave Naxxar Lions sole leadership in the BOV First Division as they beat Lija Athletic 1-0 in a clash between two of the main challengers for promotion.

Naxxar now lead the way on 22 points, followed by Marsaxlokk on 21 and Lija 20.

In the second match, St. Andrews and Gudja United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

BOV Division 1: Marsaxlokk, Vittoriosa register wins

Marsaxlokk returned on top the BOV First Division table as they defeated Dingli Swallows 3-1 in a match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Dylan Micallef put the Southseasiders ahead on 22 minutes. The same player doubled the score nine minutes in the second half. Lyden Micallef pulled one back for Dingli eight minutes from time but Andre Grabowski restored a two-goal lead two minutes later.

In another match, Vittoriosa Stars beat Pietà Hotspurs 3-1.

BOV Division 1: Dramatic win for Birzebbuga

Birzebbuga St. Peter’s returned to winning ways as they registered a most dramatic 4-3 win over Mqabba in a match from the BOV First Division at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

Mead Mifsud put Birzebbuga ahead on 15 minutes and four minutes later, Glenn Tanti doubled the score. Joseph Okonkwo pulled one back for Mqabba on the 25th minute and seven minutes from the end of the second half, the same Nigerian striker levelled matters.

BOV Division 1: M’Xlokk, Vittoriosa share spoils in draw — Lija back on top

Marsaxlokk and Vittoriosa Stars earned a point each as they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in a match from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday. Marsaxlokk therefore join Gudja United in third place, one point behind Naxxar Lions.

Lydon Micallef put Vittoriosa ahead on 21 minutes but on 35 minutes, Marsaxlokk were awarded a penalty and Vittoriosa goalkeeper Jean Matthias Vella was sent off. From the penalty spot, Andre Grabowski converted. Four minutes later, Terrence Farrugia was sent off for Marsaxlokk.
