BOV Division 1: Zebbug Rangers move closer to promotion

bov-first-division-2013-2014Zebbug Rangers bounced back from two consecutive defeats with a 4-1 win over Zejtun Corinthians in a match from the BOV First Division to move closer to securing promotion to the Premier League.

Melita joined Lija Athletic in third place after beating Zurrieq 1-0.

Birzebbuga St. Peter’s registered a third consecutive win as they defeated St. Andrews 4-1 while Gudja United pushed Hamrun Spartans into deeper relegation trouble as they beat them 1-0.

BOV Division 1: Another three precious points for Msida

bov-first-division-2013-2014Msida St. Joseph moved an important step towards securing their status as they defeated neighbours Gzira United 2-0 in a derby in the BOV First Division.

With four games to go, the Saints move six points ahead of Zejtun Corinthians and ten ahead of Hamrun Spartans.

In another match, St. George’s and Lija Athletic shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

BOV Division 1: Spartans keep hoping after win over Zebbug

bov-first-division-2013-2014Hamrun Spartans maintain alive hopes of avoiding relegation to Division 2 as they registered a 2-1 win over promotion challengers Zebbug Rangers in one of four BOV First Division matches in programme on Sunday. The Spartans are still anchored at the bottom of the table but lie four points behind Zejtun Corinthians and seven behind Msida St. Joseph.

Zejtun and Msida both suffered defeated. Zejtun lost 0-2 to Birzebbuga St. Peter’s while Msida lost 0-3 to Gudja United.

In another match, St. George’s defeated Gzira United 3-2.

BOV Division 1: Pietà Hotspurs promoted to the Premier League

bov-first-division-2013-2014Pietà Hotspurs secured promotion to the Premier League as they took the point they needed in a 2-2 draw from the BOV First Division clash with Lija Athletic on Saturday.

The Hotspurs now lead the way with 46 points, seven ahead of Zebbug Rangers and fifteen ahead of Lija Athletic.

St. Andrews moved fifth thanks to a 5-3 win over Zurrieq.

bov-first-division-2013-2014Msida St. Joseph claimed three important points in the battle against relegation as they managed to beat second-placed Zebbug Rangers 3-2 in one of the four BOV First Division matches in programme on Sunday.

The Saints are now third from bottom, three points ahead of Zejtun Corinthians and ten ahead of Hamrun Spartans.

In other games concerning the relegation issue, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated Hamrun Spartans 4-0 while Zurrieq beat Zejtun Corinthians 1-0.
