BOV Division 1: Hotspurs move four points clear

bov-first-division-2013-2014Pietà Hotspurs move four points clear in the BOV First Division thanks to a 2-0 win over Zurrieq in one of the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

This was the sixth win in seven matches for Noel Coleiro’s side while Zurrieq, who are joint-third from bottom, suffered the fourth defeat in five matches.

In another match, St. George’s defeated Msida St. Joseph 2-1.

BOV Division 1: Hamrun, Gudja share spoils in 4-4 draw

bov-first-division-2013-2014Hamrun Spartans and Gudja United shared eight goals in a 4-4 draw in one of the four BOV First Division matches in programme on Sunday. After going 1-3 down, the Spartans made a brilliant comeback to go 4-3 ahead but Gudja equalised to earn a point from the game.

Zebbug Rangers moved back in second place thanks to a 5-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians while Melita joined Lija Athletic in third place thanks to a 4-1 win over Zurrieq.

Birzebbuga St. Peter’s bounced back from last week’s heavy defeat to Zejtun as they beat St. Andrews 2-1.

bov-first-division-2013-2014A brace by Ige Abdullahi Adeshina put Lija Athletic back in second place as they beat St. George’s 2-0 in one of the two BOV First Division matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium.

In another match, Msida St. Joseph and Gzira United shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

BOV Division 1: Zebbug Rangers move second

bov-first-division-2013-2014Zebbug Rangers came back from one goal down to beat Hamrun Spartans 2-1 and move second in the BOV First Division. A defeat which leaves the Spartans at the bottom of the table with minus three points.

Ryan Spiteri put the Spartans ahead but a brace by Alan Tabone gave Zebbug the three points.

In another match, St. Andrews were held in a 2-2 draw by Zurrieq.

pieta-lija131130BOV First Division leaders Pietà Hotspurs rescued a point thanks to a penalty in the dying minutes for a 1-1 draw with Lija Athletic in one of the four matches in programme on Saturday.

Evano Briffa put Lija ahead but a penalty by Christian Grech handed Pietà a point.

Msida St. Joseph came back from two goals down to beat Gudja United 4-2. Anthony Ewurum and Mauro Brincat put Gudja two goals ahead after just nineteen minutes but an own goal, a goal by Pellegrino Albanese and two goals by Ayrton Azzopardi gave Msida their first win.
