BOV Division 1: Third successive win for Lija Athletic

Lija Athletic registered a third consecutive win in the BOV First Division as a goal by Ige Abdullahi Adeshina handed them a narrow win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s.

Lija now move sixth on 19 points, two ahead of Naxxar Lions and Birzebbuga. Naxxar, however, have two games in hand.

Pietà Hotspurs, on the other hand, dropped another two points as they were held in a goalless draw by St. George’s.

BOV Division 1: Melita win big match to join leaders

Melita defeated Pietà Hotspurs in this weekend’s big match from the BOV First Division to join the Hotspurs and Rabat Ajax on top. The Magpies however have a game in hand.

For Pietà, this was the second consecutive defeat after losing to Rabat last week.

A brace by Nicolo Baldacchino and a goal by Luke Micallef gave the Amateurs the three points. Larson Mallia scored the Hotspurs’ only goal.

BOV Division 1: Precious points for Lija Athletic

Lija Athletic collected three precious points in the BOV First Division as they defeated St. Andrews in one of the two matches on Saturday.

Antoine Sacco, Erjon Beu and Gilbert Camilleri scored Lija’s goals with Gustavo Ribeiro replying for St. Andrews.

In another match, goals by Mead Mifsud and Frantisek Schneider gave Birzebbuga St. Peter’s a 2-0 win over St. George’s.

BOV Division 1: Rabat win top of the table clash

Rabat Ajax joined Pietà Hotspurs on top the BOV First Division table after beating them 1-0 in a top-of-the-table clash.

Vilson Caushi scored the all-important goal for the Magpies.

In the second match, Vittoriosa Stars held Zejtun Corinthians in a goalless draw.

Melita joined Rabat Ajax in second place in the BOV First Division as they beat St. George’s 2-0 on Saturday.

Julian Galea and Michael Martin scored the goals for the Amateurs.

In another match, Lija Athletic collected three precious points in a 2-0 win over Dingli Swallows.
