BOV Division 1: Comfortable win for Maroons

Gzira United returned to winning ways in the BOV First Division as they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 3-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Dino Cachia put the Maroons ahead on 22 minutes. Alfred Effiong converted a penalty ten minutes in the second half and Ryan Deguara sealed the issue with a third goal six minutes from time.

Meanwhile Pietà Hotspurs returned to winning ways as they beat Mqabba 4-0 in the second match.

BOV Division 1: Lija Athletic move top

Lija Athletic moved on top the BOV First Division thanks to a 2-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians at the Centenary Stadium on Friday. A win which puts Brian Spiteri’s side two points ahead of St. Andrews who however have a game in hand.

Amadeo Mercieca put Lija ahead on 14 minutes and Andre Scicluna doubled the score on three minutes from time.

In another match, Naxxar Lions and Gudja United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

BOV Division 1: Vittoriosa held by Dingli — Zejtun beat St. Andrews

Vittoriosa Stars were held in a goalless draw by Dingli Swallows in a match from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

In the second game, a goal by Blendi Gockaj gave Zejtun Corinthians a 1-0 win over leaders St. Andrews.

BOV Division 1: Second defeat for Pietà

Gudja United bounced back from the defeat to Marsaxlokk as they beat Pietà Hotspurs 2-1 at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

Kiril Alexandrov and Peter Paul Sammut scored the goals for Gudja with Jonathan Bilbo Zarate replying for Pietà.

Lija Athletic, on the other hand, were held in a 1-1 draw by Gzira United in the second match.

BOV Division 1: Comfortable win for Marsaxlokk

Maraaxlokk registered a most comfortable 5-1 win over Mqabba in one of the matches from the BOV First Division on Friday.

Andre Grabowski put the Southseasiders ahead just before half-time and an own goal early in the second half made it 2-0. Abeeb Abiodun Williams reduced the gap foq Mqabba but another goal by Grabowski and a brace by Douglas da Silva Silveira gave Louis Cutajar’s side a comfortable win.

Meanwhile Naxxar Lions beat Birzebbuga St. Peter’s by the odd goal in five.
