  Marsa relegated to Division 2

St. Patrick moved an important step towards securing their First Division status after claiming an important 3-1 win over Marsa. The latter, on the other hand, were relegated to Division 2.

Marsa took the lead thanks to a goal by Warren Chircop. Chris Grech levelled matters for the Zabbar side and late in the game, two goals by Thomas Caruana gave them the three points.

Meanwhile Tarxien Rainbows moved an important step towards promotion as they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 3-0.

Melvin Pisani put the Rainbows ahead early in the second half. Angus Buhagiar doubled the score on 85 minutes and two minutes later, John Paul Muscat made it 3-0.

When all teams played 17 matches, Tarxien lead the way with 36 points, followed by Qormi and Mosta on 34, Senglea 28, Dingli 27, Vittoriosa 22, St. George's 21, St. Patrick 16, Mellieha 13 and Marsa 10.

Mosta and Qormi play their last game on Sunday as they take on Mellieha and Dingli Swallows respectively.
