| Sliema Wanderers had no mercy for a Mosta side reduced to nine men as they defeated them 6-0. Sliema therefore registered their second win and are yet to suffer a goal.
Despite such an emphatic score, the Blues were not that impressive during the first half and early in the second. The score is too harsh on Mosta considering that they controlled their opponents for long stretches even if they had two players sent off. It was only in the final minutes that Sliema dominated, scoring another three goals thanks to their best two players - Daniel Bogdanovic and Danilo Doncic. For Mosta, Nigerian duo Ike Chibueze and Udo Nwoko played another good game. Mosta lacked the injured Bryan Agius and the suspended Ives Bilocca. These were replaced by Carl Attard and Pio Vassallo. For Sliema, the unfit Noel Turner and Orosco Anonam made way for Jeffrey Chetcuti and Stefan Giglio in the starting line-up. Sliema took the lead on 15 minutes when a shot by Daniel Bogdanovic from close range was blocked by goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia. However Bogdanovic served Danilo Doncic whose low shot ended in the corner at the back of the net. The score could have been 2-0 on 23 minutes when off a cross by Doncic from the right, Brian Said's header from close range hit the upright. Mosta replied with a solo effort by Dyson Falzon concluded with a low shot which was neutralised by Akanji. Paul Zammit's side were reduced to ten men on the half-hour when Serbian defender Miroljub Spasic received a second yellow card for a foul inside the area. However Mosta failed to give up, going close with an Udo Nwoko effort on 37 minutes when served by Chibueze. Sliema replied with a powerful drive by Joe Brincat which was parried by Farrugia and five minutes from the end of the first half, Bogdanovic sent Ivan Woods through. When alone in front of the goalkeeper, the international striker tried his luck rather than serving the unmarked Doncic and the Mosta custodian managed to turn the ball into a corner. Three minutes in the second half, it was Dyson Falzon who went close for Mosta with a diagonal shot from the left which scraped past the posts. However a minute later, Sliema doubled the score with Woods serving Stefan Giglio from the right and the former Valetta midfielder hit low past Farrugia. Following a cross from the right by Pio Vassallo, a header by Chibueze was parried by Akanji. Mosta however had a second player sent off on 56 minutes when Dyson Falzon was given marching orders for a rough tackle on Alex Muscat. On the half hour, Carl Attard floored Joe Brincat inside the area. Referee Anton Zammit ordered a penalty and Ivan Woods converted from the penalty spot. In the final eight minutes, Sliema extended the lead with another three goals. On the 82nd, Doncic served Daniel Bogdanovic on the left and with a fine shot, the latter beat Farrugia. Two minutes later, Doncic scored from close range after receiving a pass by Alex Muscat from the right. Hardly a minute had passed and Sliema scored the sixth goal. This time there was a cross from the left and Doncic hit low past the helpless Matthew Farrugia.

| Msida St. Joseph collected their first three points of the season as they came from behind to beat Valletta 3-1.
Todor Raykov's side showed remarkable improvement over the performance in the previous outings. Daniel Nwoke and Ibrahim Babatunde played an excellent game for the Saints, being a constant threat for the Valletta defence. Valletta are now left with just one point from three matches. Their performance left much to be desired with the main problem seeming to be in midfield. Mark Pullicino was making his debut for Msida after joining the club on loan from St. Patrick. He replaced Stefano Grima in the starting line-up while veteran Charles Sciberras was preferred to Shane Tagliaferro. Sharlon Pace and Milen Penchev returned for Valletta with Keith Fenech and Anatole Debono starting on the bench. The Citizens took the lead on the 10th minute when in a counter-attack, Mark Galea served Rennie Forace whose rising shot gave Omar Borg no chance. Msida equalised on the 21st. There was a freekick by Carabott from the right and Ibrahim Babatunde rose high to head the ball over Valletta goalie Miguel Montfort. The Saints gained confidence from the equaliser and went close with a Paul Fenech effort, when served by Nwoke six minutes later. Daniel Theuma was unlucky to hit the upright with a header off another Carabott freekick on 38 minutes. A minute later, Msida keeper Omar Borg performed a good save on an Ian Zammit header. Four minutes from the end of the first half, Babatunde hit high following a good move on the left and just before the break, off a cross by Sciberras, Babatunde headed just wide. Msida took the lead two minutes in the second half when a powerful drive by David Carabott was deflected by a defender past the goalkeeper to end at the back of the net. This goal shocked the Citizens and it was no surprise that ten minutes later, Msida scored the third goal. Babatunde served Daniel Nwoke from the right and the latter beat Montfort with a fine curling shot which ended in the top corner. Ibrahim Babatunde could have added another goal on 69 minutes but following a good run on the left, his diagonal shot ended just wide. Msida keeper Omar Borg was called into action to turn into a corner a Gilbert Agius shot from close range on 70 minutes and then save a Rennie Forace header three minutes later.
