Under-17 side wins in Italy

The Malta Under-17 side defeated Settignanese 1-0 in a match from Group B of the 30th Nereo Rocco Tournament.
In the first twenty minutes, the Maltese looked shaky but then soon gained control. It was Valletta’s Siraj Arab Eddin who scored the all-important goal on 28 minutes.
In the second half, the team dictated play and looked sharp for the whole 45 minutes. The Italians managed to repel attack after attack although the Maltese were very close to scoring a second goal with a great shot by Sacha Borg.
The morale is high and the boys are looking forward to their match against Bologna on Thursday at 19:00 at the Ferruccio Valcareggi Stadium B and Livorno on Friday 4 at 19:00 at the Ferruccio Valcareggi Stadium B. The semi-finals will be played on Saturday 5 and the finals on Sunday 6.
