New season for Hamrun Nursery

The 2009/2010 season for the Hamrun nursery officially starts on 14 September 2009 with the celebration of mass to be held at the St Gaetan Parish Church at 5.00pm, followed by the first training sessions for all age categories to be held at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
The season opening comes after a busy summer for the Hamrun nursery. A good number of kids had the opportunity to train under the watchful eyes of head coaches Marco Grech and Stefan Sultana in the summer school organised during the months of May and June. The Hamrun Nursery also participated successfully in an international tournament held in Wales between the end of July and beginning of August. The Under 15 and Under 17 squads have already started their pre-season training in August. A number of innovations are in store for the new season as the Hamrun Nursery committee planned the months ahead throughout the summer months. The slogan for this season is “Let the coaches coach, let the children play.” The committee has drafted a Code of Ethics for parents, coaches and committee members in order to ensure a professional and serious approach by everyone concerned. Parents will confirm that they abide with the Code of Ethics upon enrolling their kids with the nursery whereas coaches and committee members have signed their respective Code of Ethics.
A Recruitment Day will be organised on Saturday 3 October 2009 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Boys and girls aged between 4 and 13 years will have the opportunity to attend training sessions organised throughout the morning for free. More details will be available towards the end of September.
