Under-17 side loses to Ireland

The Malta Under-17 side lost 0-1 to the Republic of Ireland in a friendly match at the MFA Training Grounds on Sunday.
The Irish scored the all-important goal after just eight minutes following a shaky start from the Maltese.
Malta however had its fair share of scoring opportunities, going close with attempts by Sacha Borg, Terrence Agius and Siraj Arab. Goalkeeper Yenz Cini had a very positive performance in goal.
Starting line-up: Yenz Cini, Malcolm Vella, Brandon Borg, John Micallef, Christian Grech, Zach Muscat, Terrence Agius, Ian Scerri, Sacha Borg, Matthew Hammett, Siraj Eddin Arab.
In another match on Friday, Malta had lost 0-4.
Meanwhile the Under-19 side will be playing two friendly matches against Northern Ireland at the Centenary Stadium on Monday and Wednesday. Both matches kick-off at 18:00.
