Friends of Hamrun Spartans and former national team striker Stefan Sultana together with Hamrun Spartans F.C. and the Victor Tedesco Stadium management board will be organising a testimonial match for the former Hamrun captain as a sign of appreciation after his glorious and loyal career with the club.
The event will be held on Friday October 9th at 19:00 and will be presented by Mrs. Louise Tedesco – the daughter of former Hamrun Spartans president Victor Tedesco. Entertainment will be provided before the game. 
The testimonial game will be between a team of former Hamrun Spartans players and another of former national team players.
The Hamrun team will be made up of players who were part of the squad in the glorious days of the club in the eighties and early nineties including Michael Degiorgio, Raymond Vella, Alex Azzopardi, Marco Grech, Sean Sullivan, Emmanuel Brincat, David Camilleri, John Micallef, Ray Xuereb, George Xuereb, Rupert Mangion, Leo Refalo, Gejtu Refalo, Joe Zarb and Neville Galea together with Barry Gallagher and Ian Leigh who will be travelling to Malta for this occasion. Ronnie Attard will be acting as coach. 
The former national team players will be those who played for Malta in the same period with Stefan Sultana including Charlie Scerri, Silvio Vella, Konrad Sultana, Joe Camilleri, Martin Gregory, Kris Laferla, Joe Galea, Ernest Barry, Reggie Cini, Nicky Saliba, David Carabott, Darren Debono, Jeffrey Chetcuti among others. Pippo Psaila will be the coach. 
Hamrun supporters are encouraged to attend in order to show their appreciation towards the player for the service rendered to the club. On the other hand, all football followers will be able to salute one of the best strikers ever who holds the record of the best scorer of all times with 197 goals. 
A number of distinguished guests have been invited, including the President of the Republic Dr George Abela.
