Parma to visit Malta for training camp

Italian Serie A side Parma will be visiting Malta for a training camp between December 27 and January 4. News was revealed by MFA president Dr Joe Mifsud during a press conference on Wednesday.
This will be the third Italian club to visit Malta for a training camp during the winter break in the last three years. Milan visited Malta in 2007 and Juventus in 2008.
Parma made their Serie A debut in 1990 and quickly established themselves as one of the top Italian teams in the 1990s and early 2000s. They won the Cup Winners’ Cup, UEFA Cup twice, the European Super Cup, the Coppa Italia twice and the Italian Super Cup.
Following the Parmalat scandal in late 2003, which caused the owning company to collapse, Parma experienced a troubled period. They were relegated to the Serie B at the end of season 2007/08. Last year, they placed second to regain promotion to the Serie A.
