Hamrun Spartans secured the services of Angolan striker Joao Batista Mawete Jr. 
The 28-year old player, who also holds a Portuguese passport, played for Benfica’s second team, Sporting Braga and Ol. Moscavide in Portugal before moving to Walsall in England. In 2007, he moved to Geel in Belgium but the following season, he signed for Chalkanoras Idaliou.
Mawete Junior is expected to make his debut in the U*BET FA Trophy clash against St. George’s next Saturday.
