Birmingham arrive in Malta on Monday for four-day training camp

Birmingham City Football Club will be travelling to Malta next week for a four-day training camp. The team is scheduled to travel on Air Malta’s London Gatwick flight to Malta next Monday 18th January.

The first teams’ visit was made possible following the close commercial relationship that existed between Air Malta and the English club over the last two years. This visit was also supported by the Malta Tourism Authority who offered their assistance with the organisation of this trip.

The Mediterranean islands of Malta are fast becoming a popular destination with major European Football clubs who make use of the island’s excellent capabilities and training facilities whilst at the same time escaping the cold and rainy weather in the continent.

In recent years high profile European football teams including Manchester United, AC Milan and Juventus have travelled to Malta on similar training visits. Only last week Italian Serie A Football team Parma FC has travelled to Malta for a mid-season training camp.

Over the last few weeks Europe has been experiencing freezing weather compared to the mild conditions experienced by the Maltese Islands.
