Birkirkara target sole leadership

Birkirkara will be aiming for the top spot on Monday as they take on champions Hibernians.

The Stripes are currently second, on level points with Qormi, one behind leaders Valletta. Hibernians, on the other hand, are fourth on 24 points – five behind Birkirkara and Qormi.

Birkirkara are the most in-form side, having won six of the last seven matches. They won the last three matches, beating Tarxien, Hamrun and Dingli.

Hibernians, on the other hand, are coming from four positive results, holding Qormi in a 2-2 draw last week.

Hibernians striker Etienne Barbara is ruled out through suspension while midfielder Christian Callejas is still recovering from injury.

In the first round, Birkirkara and Hibernians shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
