Two Premier League players handed one-match ban

Two Premier League players – Christian Caruana and Jonathan Pearson – were handed a one-match ban after being sent off in the National League 100 Anniversary Cup quarter-finals. However while Caruana is ruled out of the semi-finals, Pearson will miss the next league game against Sliema since the Paolites were eliminated from the competition.

In Division 1, David Agius and Jonathan Francica (Balzan), Cive Brincat (Marsaxlokk), Mauro Bonnici (Mqabba) and Cleaven Cassar (Pietà) were banned for one match while St. Patrick assistant coach Ludvic Bartolo was suspended for two matches.

Philip Chircop (Marsa), Ayrton Buhagiar (Mdina), Jacques Scerri (Pembroke) and Daniel Axisa (Xghajra) were suspended for one game in Division 3 while Marsa coach Carmelo Camilleri was handed a two-match ban. Mellieha coach Kevin Gambin was also banned for two matches following a game from the Second & Third Division Knock-Out.

In the Youth League, Charlon Sammut and Matthew Buttigieg (Dingli), Alexander Cauchi (Fgura), Andrea Grech (Marsaxlokk), Philip Taylor (Mellieha), Matthew Xuereb (Mgarr), Jurgen Stanyer (Qormi), Karl Farrugia (Rabat), Keith Vella (San Gwann) and Andrea Zahra (Siggiewi) were all banned for one match. Gudja coach Michael Baldacchino was banned for two matches. Zurrieq duo Keith Cassar and Owen Grech were handed a one-match ban in the Youth Knock-Out.
