Valletta take on Dingli this evening

Valletta will be all out to claim the three points on Monday as they take on wooden-spoonists Dingli Swallows at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, kick-off at 19:30 in their final game from the first phase.

The Citizens are currently second, two points behind leaders Birkirkara and two ahead of Qormi who have already played their last game. With a win over Dingli, Valletta would move first on 40 points but when the points will be halved for the beginning of the Championship Pool, both Valletta and Birkirkara would start their commitments on twenty points.

Dingli will only aim at making life difficult for their opponents after losing the last thirteen games. Against Valletta, they will be without the suspended Shawn Tellus.

City coach Ton Caanen will be unable to field his best formation as captain Gilbert Agius, Terrence Scerri and Njongo Priso are all ruled out through suspension.

In the first round, Valletta defeated Dingli 4-1.
