New dates for matches originally scheduled for April 17, 18 announced

The Malta Football Association announced new fixtures for matches which were due to be played on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th April when Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting Malta.

The programme for the weekend included two BOV Premier League, two BOV First Division and two BOV Second Division matches on Saturday, two BOV Premier League, two BOV First Division, two BOV Second Division and two BOV Third Division matches on Sunday.

Premier League matches will be played on Thursday 15 and Friday 16.
Sliema Wanderers vs Tarxien Rainbows and Birkirkara vs Qormi will be played at the National Stadium on Thursday 15, Msida St. Joseph vs Floriana and Valletta vs Hibernians at the National Stadium on Friday 16 and Hamrun Spartans vs Dingli Swallows at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday 16.

Sliema vs Tarxien and Valletta vs Hibs could be switched depending on which team reaches the final of the National League 100 Anniversary Cup. The final which was due to be played on Wednesday 14 has been anticipated to Tuesday 13 at 19:30 at the National Stadium.

The BOV First Division matches which were due to be played during that weekend have been delayed by a week and will therefore be played on April 24, 25 and 26 while the last round of matches will be played between May 1 and 3. The semi-finals and final of the Maltco Lotteries First Division Knock-Out will be played on May 9 and 14 respectively.

The BOV Second Division matches Lija Athletic vs Zebbug Rangers and Zurrieq vs Gharghur will be played on Thursday 15 while Gzira United vs Gozo and Sta. Venera Lightnings vs Mellieha have been scheduled for Tuesday 20.

On the other hand, the BOV Third Division Section A matches Kalkara vs Mdina Knights and Ghaxaq vs Mgarr United will be played on Thursday 22.
