Senglea nursery tournament raises €1,450 for the Hospice Movement

The Dylan Bugeja Tournament was organised by the Senglea Nursery on March 21 in aid of the Hospice Movement. This tournament was being held for the second consecutive year and was named after Dylan Bugeja, a youngster forming part of Senglea Nursery, who died last year. Money raised from the tournament went to the Hospice Movement, which offers care for all terminal patients of lung, kidney and heart diseases and cancer.

All nurseries were invited to take part in the tournament which was held at the Tal-Ponta Ground in Senglea. Triangular tournaments were organised for the Under-8, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 categories. Besides the Senglea Nursery, the nurseries of Vittoriosa Stars, St. George’s, Kalkara, Sliema Wanderers, Pembroke Athleta and ?amrun Spartans participated in this feast of solidarity.

During an official presentation which was held at the Senglea nursery premises earlier this week, Senglea Nursery President, Mr. Stephen Spiteri thanked the participating nurseries and presented the sum of €1,450 to The Hospice Movement’s Chairman, Dr. Vincent Zammit. Mr. Spiteri concluded by stating that the Dylan Bugeja Tournament will become a yearly event and hoped that every year, more nurseries will contribute and participate in this charitable and noble cause.

Dr. Zammit thanked Senglea Nursery for organising the tournament and for the generosity shown by the club and all the nurseries who took part.
