Under-17 sides loses 5-0 to England

The Malta Under-17 side lost 5-0 to hosts England in a match from Group 7 of the UEFA Under-17 Championship Elite Round at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton Albion.

The English, who had defeated Sweden 4-0 in the first game, took the lead thanks to a goal by Chuks Aneke on 20 minutes. William Keane doubled the score on the half-hour, Aneke made it 3-0 on 36 minutes and two minutes later, Benik Afobe scored the fourth goal. A penalty by Harry Kane sealed the issue by converting a penalty on 72 minutes.

Aneke missed a penalty mid-way through the second half.

Malta will be playing the third and final match against Sweden on Thursday, kick-off at 20:00. Sweden registered their first win on Monday, defeating Slovakia 2-0.
