MFA president to stand for re-election

Malta Football Association president Dr Joe Mifsud announced that he will stand for re-election during the next MFA Annual General Meeting as his current three-year term as president expires in July. He revealed his intentions during a meeting of the Council which was held on Thursday.

Dr Mifsud said that although he has now served for eighteen years as MFA president, he feels he still has a lot to offer to the game. Therefore he would be ready to accept the nomination to run for president of the association for another three-year term.

Also running for the post in July will be former MFA treasurer Norman Darmanin Demajo.

On that occasion, Dr Mifsud beat Darmanin Demajo narrowly by 52 votes to 49.
