Women's World Cup: England beats Malta 6-0

European Championship finalists England scored three in each half to beat the women’s national team 6-0 in a match from Group 5 of the qualifying round of the FIFA Women’s World Cup at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

As expected, the visitors turned out to be a very strong side who aimed at obtaining an emphatic win. The locals, on the other hand, did their best to limit the damages.

Faye White put England ahead on 7 minutes and Kelly Smith doubled the score on the 15th. Fara Williams made it 3-0 on 29 minutes.

Eleven minutes in the second half, Jessica Clarke scored the fourth goal while Ellen White and Fara Wiliams increased the lead further with goals on 67 and 82 minutes.
