Juventus Soccer School Malta launched

The local branch of the Juventus Soccer Schools was launched on Wednesday by Kids Soccer Academy Ltd during a press conference which was held at the Waterline Restaurant, Marsascala.

The school which will be known as Juventus Soccer School Malta will be open for all boys and girls, aged six to thirteen. This will be the second time that the school will be represented in Malta as a few years ago, Franco Degabriele and Claudio Camilleri opened the first branch.

Head Coach and Sporting Director Charles Borg said that as a coach within the Juventus Soccer Schools for the past few years, both in Malta and in Italy, and also following a request by Alessandro Ramello who is in charge of the Juventus Soccer Schools, he felt the need to take the challenge and re-establish the school once again in Malta.

Among the shareholders of the local branch of the Juventus Soccer School are Zejtun Corinthians.

Zejtun Corinthians president John Bugeja said it was a great honour for the club to represent the school. He said this agreement will provide children within the Zejtun nursery with great opportunities including the possibility of visiting Turin. In fact, between November 1st and 3rd, a group from Zejtun nursery together with a group from the Juventus Soccer School Malta will be visiting Turing for training sessions and a triangular tournament together with a team from the Italian club’s youth sector.

Bugeja announced that if everything goes to plan, the first training sessions of the Juventus Soccer School Malta will be held on a new synthetic turf pitch in Zejtun – works on which are currently underway.

The Zejtun president finally thanked two directors of the Kids Soccer Academy Ltd – Aldo Giordimaina and Raymond Giordimaina – thanks to whom this link was made possible.

On behalf of the Juventus Club Vero Amore Malta, general secretary Matthew Scerri said he was glad the school is being set-up once again. He wished success to the directors of this new company.

Head Coach Charles Borg, who is now established as Tecnico II within the Juventus Soccer Schools in Turin, explained that two weekly sessions will be held – one on Tuesdays at the Zejtun Corinthians Ground and one on Thursdays at the Pembroke Athleta Ground. Sessions will be held between 17:00 and 18:30.

Kids Soccer Academy is currently receiving applications from coaches willing to join the Juventus Soccer School. Only the basic course is necessary as these coaches will be attending courses in Turin for specialised training.

Parents who would like to enrol their children with the Juventus Soccer School should send an email to chborg1897@onvol.net or sandro.micallef@gmail.com or the Juventus Soccer School Malta page on Facebook. Applications may also be obtained from the Juventus Club Vero Amore Malta.

Also present for the press conference were Manuel Cassar and Clayton Giordimaina – two directors of the Kids Soccer Academy and Sandro Micallef who is in charge of the Marketing.
