Under-17 side to host UEFA mini-tournament

The Malta Under-17 side will be hosting the Albania, Norway and the Republic of Ireland in Group 4 of the UEFA Under-18 Championship mini-tournament which will be held between Saturday 25 and Thursday 30 September. All matches will be played at the Centenary Stadium.

The Under-17 side, which is now led by coach Vince Carbonaro, will take on Ireland in the first game on Saturday, kick-off at 11:00. On Monday, Malta faces Norway at 17:00 while the third game is against Albania on Thursday at 17:00.

The eighteen players selected by Carbonaro are:
goalkeepers Jurgen Borg (Floriana), Yenz Cini (Valletta);
defenders Glenn Chircop (Sliema), Scott Chircop (Hibs), Francesco Gusman (Floriana), Karl Conti (Hibs), Steven Schembri (Mosta), Hubert Vella (Pietà), Daniel Zerafa (Hamrun);
midfielders Terence Agius (Pietà), Luke Grech (Hamrun), Ayrton Micallef (Hamrun), Dylan Micallef (St. Patrick), Brandon Muscat (Hibs), Dylan Stivala (Australia);
forwards Siraj Eddin Arab (Valletta), Luke Baldacchino (Hibs), Elland Vella (Marsa).

The other three games will be played as follows:
Saturday 25 – 14:00 Norway v Albania
Monday 27 – 14:00 Republic of Ireland v Albania
Thursday 30 – 14:00 Republic of Ireland v Norway
