Second defeat for Under-19 side in mini-tournament

Netherlands scored three in the second half to beat Malta 3-0 in the second match from the UEFA Under-19 Championship Group 9 mini-tournament at the Sportni Park in Lednava, Slovenia on Saturday.

The Maltese kept their opponents at bay during the first half but seven minutes into the second half, Shabir Isoufi put the Dutch ahead. This was a cold shower for the Maltese who suffered the second goal three minutes later through Luc Castaignos. Castaignos scored a third goal four minutes from time.

Malta plays the third and final game on Tuesday against hosts Slovenia at the Fazanerija Stadion in Murska Sobota. Slovenia also lost its first two matches, 0-2 to the Netherlands and 0-1 to Slovakia.
