Balzan Youths joined rivals Lija Athletic in the semi-finals of the First Division Knock-Out after beating Msida St. Joseph 2-0 in a match from Group 1 on Saturday. Uchenna Anyanwu and Matthew Sciortino scored the two goals for the Youths.

A win which enabled them to finish in second place, three points ahead of Mosta who were held in a 2-2 draw by Melita, after taking a two-goal lead. Gilbert Martin and Ryan Deguara put Oliver Spiteri’s side two goals ahead but Luke Micallef and Nicolo Baldacchino restored equilibrium.

In Group 2 on Sunday, Pietà Hotspurs take on St. George’s while St. Andrews face Dingli Swallows. The four teams still stand a chance to secure second place behind group winners Mqabba.
