Sliema Nursery Halloween Tournament to be held on Sunday

In keeping with the Halloween’s spirit of fun, the main objective of this activity is to give the young participants the opportunity to enjoy playing football without pressure, have fun and interact socially during the mid-term holidays.

In this age of high-tech computer games where, most of the time, children are not physically active the Sliema Nursery is giving the opportunity to the participants not only to play football but also to participate in other active fun games.

At the Nursery premises, a Halloween Hall has been specially decorated and prepared to host the young participants. Face painters and animators will also be in attendance. The participants are also being encouraged to use their imagination and draw a picture combining football and Halloween; these pictures will then be displayed in the Halloween hall during the activity.

The football tournament is being organised for four age groups namely under 8, 9, 10 and 11 with teams from the Nurseries of Birkirkara, San Gwann, Melita, Luqa St. Andrew’s, Hamrun Spartans, Hibernians, Floriana, Luxol St. Andrews, Pietà Hotspurs and Sliema Wanderers participating.

No official scores and team positions will be kept and teams will be encouraged to give equal opportunity to all their players during the football matches.

All these activities will be held throughout the day next Sunday 31st. October at the new Sliema W.F.C. Nursery premises at Tigne Point, Sliema.
