The U*BET FA Trophy gets underway on Wednesday with the Preliminary Round match between First Division sides Pietà Hotspurs and Msida St. Joseph at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off at 19:30.

The two teams occupy to bottom two places in the BOV First Division. The Hotspurs lost 0-2 to Lija Athletic and 0-3 to Mqabba. The Saints, on the other hand, lost 0-2 to Dingli Swallows and 0-4 to Melita. To make matters worse, Msida started the season with a four-point deduction.
