Chris Lautier to control SPL match

Chris Lautier will take charge of Hibernian’s Scottish Premier League game with St Johnstone on Saturday, after the Portuguese referee scheduled to control the match pulled out on Friday night.

Lautier and his assistants, Philip Agius and Joe Camilleri, were originally due to control the Scottish Cup replay between Beith and Airdrie United. However after a 9am pitch inspection, Beith’s game was postponed due to overnight snow, paving the way for the Scottish Football Association to shift the three Maltese officials to Easter Road. Their fourth official will be Scottish assistant referee Andy Tait.

Meanwhile the Scottish Football League announced at noon that the ALBA Challenge Cup final at McDiarmid Park between Ross County and Queen of the South had been called off following consultation with police and both clubs because of severe weather warnings for Saturday night and Sunday. The game was due to be controlled by Marco Borg, assisted by Agius and Camilleri with Lautier as fourth official.

Marco Borg is due to be fourth official in the Premier League match between Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
