Malta suffered a heavy 0-6 defeat to Federación Gallega of Spain in the final match from the UEFA Regions Cup Intermediary Round Group 1 mini-tournament at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Pablo Rey-Cabarcos converted a penalty on 15 minutes to put the Spanish side ahead and three minutes later, Felipe Rodriguez doubled the score. Rodriguez made it 3-0 on the half-hour and eight minutes later, Jose Souto scored the fourth goal

After the break, Felipe Rodriguez added another two goals on 65 and 73 minutes.

At the same time, Württembergischer FV of Germany defeated Greek side Fthiotida 14-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Federación Gallega and Württembergischer FV therefore both ended their commitments on seven points but the German side reaches the final tournament thanks to a better goal difference.
