Capodanno Cup to be held on Thursday

Italian Serie B side Triestina and Premier League clubs Valletta and Qormi will be playing in the triangular tournament – the Capodanno Cup at the National Stadium on Thursday. A match which is part of the Italian club’s five-day training camp in Malta.

This mini-tournament will give new Triestina coach Walter Alessando Saviani the first opportunity to watch his players in action after taking over as new coach last week. The Triestina squad includes Malta international defender Andrei Agius who is currently on trial with the club.

Qormi take on Valletta in the first match which kicks-off at 18:30. In the second game, Triestina face Qormi while the third and final game is Valletta vs Triestina. Each game is 45 minutes long. In case of a draw, penalty kicks would decide the winner.

Tickets will be available at the gates for €6. Children under the age of 14 enter for free while holders of Kartanzjan pay €4.
