Narrow defeat for Under-19 side

The Malta Under-19 side suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to Scotland Under-17 in a friendly match at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.

Malta went close to taking the lead on the 3rd minute through Matteo Desira Buttigieg and once again on the 20th when Keith Tanti’s cross was not met by Ryan Dalli by a whisker.

Five minutes into the second half, Lewis Kidd scored the all-important goal for Scotland.

The Maltese tried in vain to penetrate the Scottish defence but the visitors managed a clean sheet.
