Bulgarian midfielder for Hamrun, Barbara joins Sliema

The January transfer window closed on Monday with the registration of the three new players.

Hamrun Spartans secured the services of Bulgarian midfielder Nikolai Chipev. The former Under-21 international joins the Spartans from Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Etienne Barbara is a Sliema Wanderers player after the receipt of the international transfer certificate. Barbara, who was linked with Floriana last month, will stay with the Blues until March when he will be expected to move back to the USA where he played for Carolina RailHawks.

Meanwhile following the release of Joseph Okonkwo, Valletta signed Brazilian striker Andrade Antunes Anderson. After starting his career in Brazil, he played for Atletico Monte Azul in Mexico, he moved to Japan where he played for Mito HollyHock, Sagan Tosu, Shimizu S-Pulse and Yokohama. He then played for El Zamalek in Egypt, Brujas in Costa Rica and Daegu in South Korea.

Malta international striker Michael Mifsud is still without a club after failing to reach an agreement with Floriana while Daniel Bogdanovic rejected a move to Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.
