Floriana Football Club announced that they have accepted the resignation by Johann Said from the post of President.

In a statement, the club said that despite various attempts to solve matters, Said stayed firm in his decision. The Floriana FC committee has therefore appointed Matthew Paris as acting President, with the mandate to try to resolve the current situation while seeing that this does not affect the team’s performance in the important game against Sliema this weekend. Paris had a meeting with the players where he explained the current situation.

He also had a meeting with Johann Said where the two agreed on several points. Johann Said made a number of proposals and it was agreed that a rally will be held on Friday where the current situation will be explained to club members. Johann Said will be present for the rally.

Only members will be admitted to the rally. Non-members are urged to become members in order to be able to participate in the discussion.
